How to Use the Magnification Calculator
Basic Inputs:
- Eyepiece: Magnification power of the ocular lens (typically 10×, 15×, or 20×)
- Objective: Magnification of the objective lens (choose from presets or enter custom)
Advanced Options:
- Tube Lens Factor: Optical multiplication factor from intermediate optics (default 1.0×)
- Camera Adapter: Magnification factor when using digital camera mounting (default 1.0×)
Formula:
Total Magnification = Eyepiece × Objective × Tube Lens × Camera Adapter
Quick Presets:
- Scanning (40×): Initial sample overview
- Low (100×): General observation
- High (400×): Detailed cellular structures
- Oil Immersion (1000×): Bacteria, fine details
